Eastern Gateway to the Margaret River Wine Region

On the
southern shores of Geographe Bay, 230 kms south of Perth, Busselton
enjoys an idyllic, temperate climate. Cool breezes maintain pleasant
conditions in the warm, dry summer and the mild winter is virtually
frost free, with generally sunny days.
More
than 50 establishments provide accommodation ranging from 5 star,
waterfront resorts, to comfortable motels, guest houses and caravan
parks. There is also a broad selection of self catering chalets,
apartments, cottages and houses throughout the region.
Western Australians flock to Busselton in the summer and school
holidays.
The major attractions are:

-
The "Jetty" - 1.8 kilometres long. The longest
jetty in the southern hemisphere. Visitors either stroll its
length or "catch the train". The recently opened underwater
observatory at the end is an added attraction. Coral grows on
the jetty piles and a wide variety of fish love the
environment. So do the visitors.
-
Busselton's pristine, white sandy beach - With
predominantly offshore breezes and soft sand underfoot swimmers
enjoy a very safe playground. It is also a beachcombers
delight. Long walks along the waters edge are blissful,
particularly early in the morning and at sunset.
-
The Margaret River Wine Region - There are more
than 80 wineries within 60 kms of Busselton, renowned for their
quality wines. They attract visitors year round and most of
